Charming Italian-made powder compact mirror from the early/mid 20th century. Made from 800 gilded silver with enameled details and a hand-painted scene of two lovers sitting in a field. The border and backside of the case feature ornate engraved designs with floral nouveau motifs. The inside of the case has a gold-framed mirror and loose powder tray with the original screen, powder puff, and....powder! Given its age, the compact has some general wear and discoloration, most notably on the gilded silver, but the colors have remained vibrant and beautiful. Overall in great vintage condition and would make a wonderful gift/addition for a collector.
