An absolutely breathtaking antique 14k opal cluster pearl drop lavaliere brooch. Features an yellow gold open work multi-stone setting with 13 small iridescent opal cabochons arranged in 6-point prong settings. Unfortunately, two of the opal cabochons (bottom center and left) are missing from their settings, but the rest of the opal stones remain in secure in their settings. The back of the brooch has a 1930's style safety fastener and hidden necklace loop fit for most smaller chains.
The back of the brooch is hallmarked '14k' and the gold has been acid tested for authenticity. Despite the damage, we feel the overall quality and aesthetic are retained. A piece like this deserves to be restored and hopefully will find a good home. Overall in good vintage condition with described wear and age-appropriate discoloration,
