An absolutely stunning solid 18k gold mosaic opal pendant adorned with 20 accent diamonds and two faceted blue gemstones. The pendant has a diamond-shaped face with a large oval bezel setting surrounded by etched vine/scroll embellishments and glittering gemstones. The iridescent blue gemstone cabochon is an opal triplet, aka a thin sheet/fragments of genuine opal is sandwiched between a backing and quartz/glass dome cap. This process is done because larger opal stones are quite rare and expensive. This cabochon has a nearly identical look and luster to a real opal stone and has remained in great condition with minimal wear to the cap.
The top/bottom points of the pendant-face feature an engraved triangle set with ten 1mm +/- accent diamonds arranged in a 1-2-3-4 formation. The left/right points are inlaid with a 3mm faceted blue gemstone with accent chisel marks around the setting. The back of the set features a large hinged pendant loop with a tension clasp and an '18k' mark on the underside. The pendant has been gold acid tested for authenticity and is in overall great vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and discoloration.
