A gorgeous antique 14k yellow gold feather brooch with a purple amethyst dangle. The feather is made from solid gold and has a lovely textured finish. The amethyst is round-cut and sits in a pretty yellow gold bezel cup setting linked to the bottom center of the feather.
Of note on this piece is the large faceted amethyst stone with an extra long pavilion and pointed cutlet that can be seen from the back of the open setting.The brooch is secured with a solid gold pin and early handmade trombone safety latch fixed to the back of the feather. The gold pin is hallmarked '14k' and the gold has been acid tested for authenticity. In great vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and discoloration.
