A stunning 14k purple star sapphire ring in yellow gold. The focal point of this piece boasts a round translucent purple cabochon with a pointed top and asterism inclusion. The stone is bezel set on a yellow gold dome band with a clean polished finish.
The cabochon has a pinkish/purple hue and loos similar to amethyst in some light, but when illuminated, a sparkling asterism can be seen. Given how incredibly rare star sapphires are, this stone is most likely lab-created, but it certain has a look and quality that looks natural. The inner band is hallmarked '14k' and the gold has been acid tested for authenticity. There is some minor wear and discoloration to the gold facade, but overall the ring remains in excellent vintage condition.
