Absolutely ethereal hand-carved mermaid necklace in sterling silver. Features carved bone, grey freshwater pearls, and a moonstone accent. The focal point of this piece boasts a large painted bone mermaid figure pendant with a single strand of 3 smaller mermaid links on each side. The carved bone is set in open back silver settings and features intricate carved details and baroque pearl decoration. There are 10 pearls on the pendant and then a 3-2-1 arrangement on the links. Of note is the small 8mm moonstone cabochon subtly set on the mermaid pendant.
The necklace secure with a double hook chain link clasp and can slightly adjusted down in size if needed. The clasp is hallmarked 925 for authenticity. There are no notable makers marks but this is believed to be a handmade Tibetan/Nepali piece. Everything remains secure in its original with some general wear. In overall good vintage condition with some patina and tarnishing.
