Up for sale is a very rare oil on panel work by the well-known Philadelphia artist, Ralph Pallen Coleman (1892-1968). Mostly known for his religious works, Coleman also produced a few non-religious works. This is one such rare example. The featured scene is of a rather contented fisherman with a cigarette in his mouth fishing in a stream. The painting is signed on the lower right side by Coleman. This is a framed piece.

The painting is in excellent condition overall. The piece is solid and intact with no cracks, dents or tears. Notably, there are minor chips in the edges of the paint where the painting meets the frame. Also, the painting itself is slightly offset inside of the frame and will need a minor adjustment to properly reset its viewing angle and position inside of the frame.
