Absolutely stunning hand-painted ceramic 'Vemeer Teapot' sculpture made by Russian ceramic artist Noi Volkoviin 2006. Inspired by the paintings 'Girl With A Pearl Earring' & 'View Of The Delft" by 17th-century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. The 3D teapot sculpture is square-shaped with a standard snout and large ear handle. The front of the teapot features a well-done 3D replication of the "Girl With A Pearl Earrings" face emerging from the side of the teapot with her signature yellow headscarf folded from the top and draped over the handle. The back of the teapot features an impressionist style painting of cityscape along the water rendered from a portion of the 'View Of The Delft' painting. The scene spans the entire backside of the teapot and wraps around along the ear handle.

The teapot has been functionally sculpted, meaning it has a hollow body/snout pour and an open hole at the top with an ornamental stopper/lid, however, this piece is, unfortunately missing. There is also a piece missing where the girl's pearl should be, and most of the cork footpads on the base have worn off. Regardless, this sculpture is incredibly well-crafted, eye-catching, and overall in good condition with minor wear. It would honestly make for a beautiful flower vase, but it also stands alone as a unique and interesting piece of art/home decor.

Marked 6/59 and signed "Noi Volkov '06" along the top of the backside for authenticity.
